SNMPTT Format

Post by trevrobwhite »

Hi all,
First of all hello to everyone, I'm hoping as I use nagios more I will be able to help on this forum not just post questions but to start I have a question - sorry!

I was hoping someone can help as I'm a bit new to SNMP Traps.

I've setup SNMPTT, but basically what I'm trying to achieve is a single log file which receives traps from all my devices (known or unknown) then I will have a nagios service to that greps out its own IP address looking for traps in the last hour and then auto resets if nothing is received.

I've no problem setting up the log file check but I was wondering if in snmptt I can set the format for ALL traps I was hoping for something like:
DATE!IP_ADDRESS!TRAP DETAILS

Then it is easy to grab the information.

Any ideas?

There a re a myriad of logging options for the snmptt.conf file. Take a look:
