Alerts missing host name

Post by mtkaschools »

Hello,

Some of my alerts are missing host names in the text that is e-mailed out. How do I correct that issue?

Thank you,

This usually happens when you have service notification handlers configured for host notification handlers and vice versa. Check the contact in question for misapplied notification handlers under the contacts "alert settings" tab.

Most work just fine. It's just some that do not display the hostname...

Were the notification commands correct for the contacts in question?

What version of Nagios XI are you using? Click on the username in the upper right corner, then click on "Notification Messages" under the "Notification Options" menu, and check the "Host/Service Alert Message" sections. Do you have "Host: %host%" or you have "Host: %hostalias%"?
