Hello,
Yesterday I added a contact group to a list of web applications. THis contact group xi_dig_sb_wacht is member of the contact group xi_dig_sb together with some other contact groups. Tonight however it seems all members of the other contact groups also received email for these web applications. This doesn't seem like very logical to me?
Is this normal behaviour when a contact group (xi_dig_sb_wacht) is set as contact, email is also sent to it's "brother" contact groups (xi_dig_sb_systeem
and xi_dig_sb_server)?
xi_dig_sb contains
- xi_dig_sb_wacht
- xi_dig_sb_systeem
- xi_dig_sb_server

Re: Contact Group and Contact Group Members
Parent contact groups will not inherit settings from children objects, only the other way around. There is most likely a misconfiguration somewhere; can you post the configuration of the contacts/contactgroups and the config of the service that is alerting separate children of the parent groups?

Re: Contact Group and Contact Group Members
Hello,
It's kind of hard to give what you ask as I removed the children contact group from the parent contact group, as I received too many complaints.
I just reconfigured xi_dig_sb, so it has the following members:
- xi_dig_sb_netwerk which contains 5 contacts
- xi_dig_sb_servers which contains 5 contacts
- xi_dig_sb_wachtdienst which contains one contact
The funny thing is that when recreating the config from yesterday and sending a test notifictions, it seems to work as expected now, which is strange.. I'll monitor this the coming days and let you know how it went. Tx for the input!
