Edit Bug - Nagios XI 2012R2.2 + Nagios BPI 2.04

Post by IMTECH »

Hi,

Im currenty starting to use BPI and seeing an issue when editing one of the BPI groups.

Every time I start to edit it using the browser the "Display Name" is shown from a different group and the "Primary Group" checkbox is unchecked.

In bpi.conf everything looks like when I saved it the last time.

The issue is only seen with this single bpi group - in others the values are correct when trying to edit them using the browser. (checked with different browsers and deleted auto-completion data before)

Is this a known bug or is there a known solution?

And this was an already established group? It is default behavior to have the first item on the list used as an example BPI group, to aid in filling the proper information in the text boxes.

What do you mean with an already established group?

This groups were setup from scratch and the default group was deleted as its not needed.

That is what I meant. I am unable to reproduce this, strange that it only happens on one BPI group, is there anything noticeably different about this group than the others? You may have stumbled upon something here..

The only difference I see is that the "problem" group is a primary group that contains the 4 others (non-primary) and that the group name is the same that the others start with.

Could be something with a "like"-search or a wrong regex?

XXX_Blackberry5 <-- primary that shows XXX_Blackberry5_DBs as display name in the GUI
XXX_Blackberry5_C1
XXX_Blackberry5_C2
XXX_Blackberry5_Router
XXX_Blackberry5_DBs

There is a new version of the BPI component available that fixes this bug.

It can be downloaded from http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/exch ... iosbpi.zip

Thanks, this solved my problem.

Is it by intention that this version is not offered when using "check for updates" on the component site?

Component versions should be shown for both installed, and what the newest version presently is available for upgrade. Are you not seeing this on the far right side of manage components?

It wasnt shown before I upgraded using the provided link and now there is not even a "Up to date" in the status-field.
(Yes, Check for Updates was clicked ;-) )

Are you having any errors in your http error logs or /var/log/messages? I may be incorrect, but this information should be pulling from postgres most likely, and you may be having some issues there. Regardless, as you expect, that information should be shown.
