Server Migration Issue: NRDS Passive Check Weirdness

Post by matt.uebel »

Our team is working through a Nagios XI migration from a virtual to a physical server. So far we have:

- Created an dns alias to redirect old server to new server
- Used Nagios utility to backup the server config.
- Copied to New server
- Found that NRDS configuration is separate, copied that over as well

The issue we are now experiencing is that the NRDS clients are checking in, but these updates are not being reflected in the XI Web Frontend. Status changes aren’t being reflected either. As far as we can tell, it seems that all the NRDS passive checks are in the same state as they were when we shut down the virtual machine.

However, status changes are being alerted on, and we are receiving email notifications. Also, we are able to make NRDS configuration changes, and see those changes updated on the client side.

Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

EDIT: I also see that, in addition to the NRDS status and last checkin not updating, the Event Log also is not updating. The last event it shows is the successful shutdown of the Virtual Server edition, before me migrated over.

Latest Alerts also doesn't show any recent alerts... only the latest alert for the Virtual Server.
