Query - Dashlets - Metrics Overview

Post by KiwiBloke »

Hi,

I plan to create some dashboards which we will use to generate monthly reports for capacity planning purposes.

I am looking at the "Metrics Overview" dashlet as it supplies the needed information in a compact format, however, there doesn't seem to be a way to configure it and it applies blindly to all hosts/services that support a % utilization metric.

Currently if i add this dashlet to a blank dashboard it shows me disk usage only (not CPU, memory, NIC i/o or anything else) for all hosts. There doesn't seem to be any way to configure this?

In the example screenshot on the available Dashlets page it shows disk usages for an E:\, CPU and C:\ on two different servers. so i am hoping its something obvious i have missed.

It would be good if it could target a hostgroup and a specifc service, thereby breaking the report up into server type and service metric so servers can be compared directly against their peers. CPU vs CPU , memory vs memory, disk vs disk etc.

Perhaps we could clone the dashlet and hardcode each clone to target such hostgroups/services?

We are running NagiosXI 2012R2.2.

Hope you can advise what it is i am not doing right or how i can clone and tweak to meet our needs. :)

Cheers,

C.

If you open up the full metrics component from Home --> Metrics, do you see more metrics listed, as well as actual data for memory, cpu usage, load, etc?
