Nagios Mail settings

Hi
I just installed Nagios XI trial version. How do I enable nagios to send e mail notifications, what are the configuration changes that I should make ?

First, you need to create a user and specify an email address. Then you need to setup that user as a contact on some objects (services/hosts). Additionally, you may need to specify smtp relay settings in Admin --> Manage Email Settings.

When I see the SMTP relay settings, I see the following options, can you please explain which hostname, port number and username should I use

What is the mail server that you are using? Also, if you are using Microsoft Outlook, Express or Mozilla Thunderbird, you can look this up.
