Suppressing Acknowledge email notifications

Post by Fred Kroeger »

I need to send just Warning & Critical emails to a ticketing system. I can do that OK by just selecting the Warning & Critical Notification options in the Alert Settings Tab for the Contact.
However , when one of these events is Acknowledged, an email is also generated. Is there any way to disable Acknowledge notifications to a contact?

Thanks... Fred

When ack an alert, there is a check box right up top that needs to be unchecked to not send notifications. If you are looking to change this by default, I can check on altering the php for that page.

I am not aware of any way to disable notifications on acknowledged problems for a particular contact. When you click on "Acknowledge this problem" under the "Quick Actions" section in XI, you can clear out the "Send Notification" tick box (which is selected by default). This way an alert won't be sent for the acknowledgement, but in this case, none of the monitoring contacts for this host/service will get an alert.

Being able to disable notifications for acknowledgements for particular users is a good idea though. You can post a feature request on our bug tracker here:

I hate to bring ghosts back from the grave, has any progress been made on this problem? I've been asked to disable the auto check for notifications in my environment.

I know the default has not changed, and I don't believe a feature was created to change the default behavior. Looking through tracker, I don't see an external request either. I'd say go ahead and take ludmils suggestion of creating a tracker request. If you post a link to it here, I will create and link it to an internal request as well.

Great! Consider the internal one created as well.
