historical data

Post by ravish78 »

we have nrdp configured to collect data from slaves. We can see the data reflecting from slave to master server.
Master server shows all the servers and services from all 3 slave servers.

Is there any possibility of getting the historical date for slave servers from master server.

Nope.

Xi doesn't store anywhere what passive items it received from slaves...

Scott,

Our management was trying to use capacity planning feature under reports in master server. They want to see all the data in graph format from master as well as slave for planning purpose.

How can we accomodate this.Do we need to take separte license for this?

We were told it was standard deature when we purchased nagios and all data can be integrated and can be viewed from single gui.

You can view all of the data on the master (that it has received, not from before the master/slave setup was established), what I was saying is there isn't any mechanism to determine which slave sent the data.

Additionally, you could use Nagios Fusion to give one view to all of the slaves, where you could drill into each slave independently.

Scott thanks for your update.

We just wanted to use feature of capacity planning under reports. Is there any way to get the data under this in master for all servers.Cuurently we can see data for servers only for localhost and servers directly under master. No data comming from slave are visible under this reports.

It should be there...

Are your slaves older than 2012R3.3 ? There was a couple bugs prior to that, but they should all be resolved now.

Do you see performance data on the advanced tab of the service status detail page?

All the master and slave are Nagios XI 2012R2.2
I am able to see performance data for slaves on master server under service details-->advanced tab.
The graphs/data is not being displayed in capacity planning for slave servers

Yeah, I am fairly sure Scott meant to refer to 2012R1.3. Other than capacity planning, does all the other perfdata display? (I would like to know if it is an issue with the capacity planning component or a more general perfdata problem . . .)
