Nagios Website\URL monitor without adding host

hi,

I want to monitor URL or Websites only in nagios without adding Host definition file.
in host definition I have add ip of the host also , but the ip is not fixed. like www.google.com or www.yahoo.com


Is it possible .

I have tried without adding host but its not working .

Your question is a little bit unclear.

If you are creating a service to check www.google.com then it must be assigned a host, a service must always be attached to a host. That said... you can just create a host definition that will check www.google.com instead, you don't have to enter an IP either, Nagios will happily accept a DNS name.

That's correct, you can put FQDN in for the address field in a host definition.
