Pager/Email Contact Configuration Directive

Is there any functional difference between the pager and email contact directives?

Both are strings, but are different macros. The default notification handlers use the $CONTACTEMAIL$ macro, whereas the pager macro is accessed through the $CONTACTPAGER$ macro. So the difference in functionality is which macros are called in the default notification handlers.
