Time problem

Post by sharding »

Our Nagios XI 2012R2.3 has a time problem, originally all our alerts were off by one hour, i.e. if it happened 1 minute ago it said 1 hr 1 min, so I found the nagiosXI change system time doc and changed the php.ini to be America/Chicago, restarted then changed the date with date command and rebooted.

Now it's all wrong

copy from system profile

Date/Time
PHP Timezone: America/Chicago
PHP Time: Thu, 29 Aug 2013 14:46:10 -0500
System Time: Thu, 29 Aug 2013 19:46:10 +0000

Looks like you did not do the timezone portion as your timezones are different.
Walk through the document again and pay close attention to the first few lines under the "Setting the Timezone" section.

New items still have - time on them

Date/Time
PHP Timezone: America/Chicago
PHP Time: Tue, 03 Sep 2013 15:14:42 -0500
System Time: Tue, 03 Sep 2013 15:14:42 -0500

Any other ideas ? do I have to restart the server? or any nagios services ?

Try rebooting the server and see if this is going to fix your issue.
