Remove hosts

Post by deldran »

SO i used some wizards to add hosts and they are not reporting properly. Namely a couple linux servers that are vms and a SQL server. They are reporting everything as null and giving me tons of alerts.

how can i go about removing these hosts. i did a quick google search and could not find an solution. Preferably through the web interface if it can be done that way

First, they are probably being reported as null because not all portions of the vmware doc were followed:
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios_XI.pdf
1. To remove hosts, start with their services. In XI, go to --> Configure --> Core Config Manager --> Services --> Search for the name of one of the hosts you wish to remove. Check all services that apply to the host in question and then select "Delete" from the "With Checked" dropdown and then click "Go".
2. Now go to Hosts in CCM and search for the host in question, check it, select "Delete" from the "with Checked" dropdown and then select "Go".
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for each host you wish to remove.
4. Apply configuration and voila! the hosts and their services should be removed.
