It appeared as if the vile villain SNMP an his cohorts Trapd and the net-snmp gang was defeated. But, like all villains, the mofo came back, and I need help to buss a cap in it for good.
I now have 2 nagios servers with the same issue. when I send a test trap and do a tcpdump, and the other checks we used in the last episode, every thing is perfect. but Nagios does not show the trap results and the snmptt and snmpttunknown logs are blank.
Holy crap! Thank you for the Monday morning laughter. I have no insight for you, can just share your pain with traps and wish you luck!
EDIT: I lied, I'm going to go read through your last issue and see if I can offer any help as I have fought with traps quite a bit myself.

Hey fellas, while I am appreciative (and there goes my one big word of the week) of Bandits' most honorable generous offer of assistance, you boys know I need the team too right? Me and my nagios is over here cowering in the corner...we got glaucoma meds but still...dang the Doritos are good! crunch crunch... pass them meds nagios...
Oh man, back to this are we? So this was working for a while, anything change before it stopped? Even as little as a service restart or system restart? Are you also not seeing them in the unconfigured objects?

yeah, well after I got to the last stage in episode 1, my next stage was to get the mibs a runnin, but that never happened. It's crazy, the snmptt and snmpttunknown logs don't get written to, but the traps are in the debug file and snmpttsystemlog. I gotta head out but can I pm my cfg files to yah? I have GOT to be missing something.

we are gathered here today to pay tribute to memory of pore ol benhank. He was a good man, once he finally showed up, or if you turned off his Netflix and kept his coffee cup filed.
BuuuUUTT like we all must do at some point he has passed on to the big server in teh cloud. He was strck down in the prime of life by a fatal case of The Dumbazz. As you may know this illness is normal no where near fatal, but ole ben had a higher than normal susceptibility (is that the word), and so he ended up with a chronic fatal dose.
And so we say in closing : good ole benhank
Free at last,
free at last,
finally and for ever from dat dumbazz ...
Fellas I am here in sackcloth and ashes ...
Could one of yall, look at my setup to see what the biscuit I am doing wrong?
Nice post man, always cracking us up! In all seriousness, you ever going to send over those configs?
