Phantom relation

Post by BanditBBS »

I think some of benhank's craziness is rubbing off on me!

I have a host template that I looked at relations for and can not figure out how/where it has a relation to service.

I just went through everything I could think of and see absolutely no possible way it is related. :?:

I would believe, that it is stating that the contactgroups and hostgroups, have it listed somehow. But, I'd refer to my goto way of finding things in configs, grep!!

Code: Select all

grep -Ri 'windows-server-prod' /usr/local/nagios/etc/*

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagios/etc/hosttemplates.cfg:       name                                     windows-server-prod
let your confusion start :)

It is only listed in the creation of itself!

Also, I know how it is related to hostgroup and contactgroup. I am concerned as to why is lists a service!?!?!?!?!

Never mind, just close this thread. I deleted and recreated that service and all is well. I created it the exact same, so no clue why it was showing. it was actually showing as a relation to every host template that I ever used, very weird! Didn't feel like investigating any further, too busy with other items :)

Hey you with your logic!! Honestly, I got nothing for you, other than that services are allowed to define hostgroups, so maybe it is coming in from the all windows hostgroup?

.... and just as I reply you fixed it, cool!
