everything looks good but the traps are not being recieved in nagios. they are getting to my nagios box just fine.

OK, so when you say they are coming in just fine, you have run a tcpdump or similar like below?

tcpdump -i eth0 -vvv port 162 - it might take a bit but you should see

ps aux | grep snmp
ll /var/spool/snmptt

As for the other commands not working, you might need to separate out the various folders per command, although it seemed to work fine for me... odd

I hate to do this..
Before you read another word, I gotta head out. I'll have snmp nightmares tonight, in which Ill be chased by oids and snmp commands, and be crackin to go in the am! Thanks team!

The events are ending up in snmpttunknown.log. Do you have any "unconfigured objects" in XI?

yes they are. I am now loading each mib very carefully one by one. you can lock this up. It's going to take awhile (198 mibs)...


but bf0re yah do, can you shoot me a snmptt.ini and snmpttrap handler file that is properly cfg'ed? I am trying to cover all my bases.

They should be attached to this post. They should all be moved to /usr/local/bin/ and should be architecture independent.
