I have a user that is not receiving email notifications from a Contact Group. If the user is set to receive notifications outside of the contact group they get the notification, as long as no one else is specified to receive the notification. I have deleted the user/contact info and recreated. User has email selected as a notification method, test emails are received from Nagios, notifications show as being sent inside nagios, checked Exchange journal and no email is showing there. 5 other users in this group are receiving emails.
Environment: Installed VMware Image (CentOS)
A test email was sent to [email protected]

Thanks Rdedon. SMTP is already selected for my email method. I am going to try creating a new account in Exchange and forwarding that account to my regluar account. Everyone else is receiving emails without issue.
Is there a limit to the number of messages Nagios XI will send in trial mode? The group had 6 contacts in it. When I took that down to 4 (including the user that wasn't receiving emails) that user got the email.
I have tried removing the user and readding, I also tried adding new users to the group, new users also do not receive the notifications. I am really stumped as to why. The notifications page shows that it is sending the alerts, however they never hit the Exchange servers.
In the Nagios XI web interface, could you go here:
http://[yourServer]/nagiosxi/account/
and under both:
- Notification Preferences
- Notification Methods
and check that both "Enable Notifications" and "Email Receive alerts via email" are ticked off.
