I cannot speak to the technical merit of the patch (I can't code my
way out of a web paper sack), but I really like the concept - this
is indeed an annoyance, and it would be wonderful to be able to tell
Nagios what to do about the timeouts.

Oh, how I would love to see this accepted and committed!
