Can anyone tell me what is going on in the plauing configure command?

It is taking for ever to go through every single directory on my webserver which is going to take a long time! why is it doing this? can I stop it? I can run make untill it is finished and any way every one that it finds it returns [directory_name] : No such file or directory

please help

Could you show us what you've actually typed in and the error output you're seeing? Could you please also confirm what documentation you are following?

On a side note, the current version of the Nagios Plugins is 1.4.15, so you're a few releases old.
