Hi Abrist,
For some day ago, i had a question about "Re-active the NagiosXi License".
After i input the License number, Customer ID and the IP Address of NagiosXi server then select Submit, i received this alert:
"Your maintenance for the specified license key has expired.
Before you can activate the license key, you must new your Nagios XI support and maintenance subscription.
You can renew online or by contacting sales."
The version of NagiosXi i am using before the maintenance subscription expired is 2012 R1.6.
If i reinstall with this version 2012 R1.6, can i re-active without renew?
And can you please share me a link to download 2012 R1.6 version? Many thanks Abrist!

Hi you,
I had a NagiosXi running on CentOS 6.3 server but i have some problems with this machine.
For more than one year ago, i bought license for NagiosXi and activated with Nagios. Now, if i want to reinstall the OS then NagiosXi on the same server. What do i need to do if i want to reactive my license?
Could you please guide me about this?
Thank you very much,
Trung Le Viet

Your License should still work with the major version that was current when the license was purchased (2011, 2012, etc). You will have to go through the activation process again though.

Re: Re-active Nagios License
You should be able to download and install:
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... 1.6.tar.gz
However you will no longer be able to update your Nagios XI installation beyond this unless your maintenance is renewed.

Many thanks tmcdonald,
i reinstalled my nagiosxi server with the version of 2012R1.6 but i still could not re-active my NagiosXi.

Re: Re-active Nagios License
It should work fine with that version if you were using 2012 r1.6, you may want to contact [email protected] so they can take a look at your license and let you know.

Re: Re-active Nagios License
Dear all,
Many thanks you very much.
Finally, i re-actived my NagiosXi successfully.
Shamas in Nagios Sales Dept has let me know information about my contract and provided a new activation key for me.
My Nagios works now and it is activated.
Again, thanks you all very much. I really appreciate about your supports.

Re: Re-active Nagios License
Hi all,
Sorry, I still have a problem with NagiosXi.
After i installed NagiosXi version 2012R1.6 and re-actived successfully. I upgraded version 2012R2.4. Upgrade Process is completed.
I verified nagios configuration /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
.. and the result is:
Total Warnings: 0
Total Errors: 0
But when i add a new hotsgroup in Core Config Manager, i received this error:
Applying Configuration
Command submitted for processing...
Waiting for configuration verification....
Backend login to the Core Config Manager failed.
An error occurred while attempting to apply your configuration to Nagios Core. Monitoring engine configuration files have been rolled back to their last known good checkpoint.

I reviewed a snaphost of this configuration error but i seen that it seems good:
Date Snapshot Result File Actions
2013-10-09 13:53:53 Config Ok 1381287233.tar.gz Download View OutputRestore
2013-10-09 12:12:01 Config Ok 1381281121.tar.gz Download View OutputRestore

2013-10-08 12:10:01 Config Ok 1381194601.tar.gz Download View OutputRestore
I continuously verified the nagios configuration by using /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg.
But the result still is:
Total Warnings: 0
Total Errors: 0
Things look okay - No serious problems were detected during the pre-flight check
And i could not create or delete hostgroups
Everytime when i selected Apply Configuration, i always received a error alert as below but if i verified with the command above, it looks OK
Applying Configuration
Command submitted for processing...
Waiting for configuration verification....
Backend login to the Core Config Manager failed.

It's surprise for this problem, can you pls help me for this?
