There is an option to receive a notification via e-mail when someone responds to a topic, but it's pretty useless. I could tell from the subject lines of the mailing list messages whether they would be something I was interested in or not. The forum updates all have the same subject: 'Forum post notification - "Nagios Core"'. The actual topic is buried in the middle of a paragraph. Also, I only get one notification, unless I keep going back to the forum to see what's new.
Please make the subject line contain the topic text. Maybe change it from "Forum post notification - Nagios Core" from [email protected] to a message that (for example) originates from "Nagios Core Forum" with a subject of "check_nrpe!check_load command failed".
Please make it at least optional to receive e-mail notifications for every new message, and also please add the text of the new forum post to the e-mail message body.
Ethan's message informing us of the shutdown of the mailing list said, "If you'd like to duplicate the feel of mailing lists...". The current messages don't even approximate the feel of mailing lists.

This appears to already be in place, we just ran a test here and I got the subject of the thread in the email title.

I'm not seeing that. I received another notification about an hour ago. It still says just 'Forum post notification - "Nagios Core"'. I've attached a screenshot.

Hmmm. It might be only changed for moderators. We're gonna do some digging and try out a normal test account.
