Config is gone entry is still there

I just deleted a host and host group but it still shows in the summary. The host group and host was created on the local mysql but since we have offloaded it to its own mysql (not sure if that means anything) i was not able to add new devices to the host group before deleting it either and thats why i tried to delete it and the last remaining host as well but they still show up. Please Help

Ghost Hosts! Check out the following document:

Basically there can sometimes be issues with host deletion working at some levels and not others. Try some of the options in the document and let use know if that works. If not, it would be helpful to know which commands you did and did not run so we can start to narrow down some solutions.

Ghost Hostgroups!

Try deleting the hostgroup in /usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg

Were you able to delete the hostgroup successfully?

when i went to look in the config file it was not there either. it eventually disappeared on its own but it took so long. Why is this? And one other question is before leading up to the time that i blew away the host group i was trying to add devices to the host group but i could not see them after it said i successfully added them. The reason i had to try to re add them was because when they were put in there in the first place they didnt have ping service on them. Why was all this happening as well is my question? All looks good now i will redo the host group and let you know if i have any more problems.

Great. You may have had issues with applying the configuration. . . or potentially db issues. I am glad it is resolved. Let us know if any issues, new or old, arise from the dust.
