Finally got it working.
Using the NSClient++ msi installer, you get to the point where it asks you for allowed hosts, NSClient Password and then it has the check boxes for the modules to load. I was only checking the box to Enable common check plugins. This time, I checked that box, plus the Enable nsclient server (check_nt) and the Enable NRPE server (check_nrpe). I included a password, ran the Windows Desktop Monitoring Wizard and now it's working. I guess it doesn't work if you only check the Enable common check plugins, but I didn't see any documentation indicating that. Stuff happens I guess.
I don't think I need both nsclient server and NRPE server so I am going to uncheck NRPE and see if it still works.
Thanks for the tip on the VM's, I'm going to install it on my Windows 7 VM test box next and see how that goes, then I guess we'll put it on our three Exchange servers.

Great, keep us up to date if you have issues! No you do not need the NRPE server enabled unless you are passing NRPE check data through the NSClient server from another remote host.

Thanks.
Proper syntax for allowing more than one host is ipaddress, ipaddess. Comma seperated, no spaces, correct?
