Disable notification for DOWNTIMESTART and DOWNTIMEND

Post by dervari »

Ok, I apparently checked something that I shouldn't have. I get text messages at 3am notifying me of a down time start and 5 am for a down time end. I can't find out where to disable these notifications at. Any pointers? :)

How Scheduled Downtime Affects Notifications
When a host or service is in a period of scheduled downtime, Nagios will not allow normal notifications to be sent out for the host or service. However, a "DOWNTIMESTART" notification will get sent out for the host or service, which will serve to put any admins on notice that they won't receive upcoming problem alerts.

Each user can modify his/her notification settings not to receive alerts on host/service donwtime.

Click on the username in the upper right corner, then go to "Notification Preferences", clear the "Host Downtime" and "Service Downtime" tick boxes, then click on "Update Settings".

What about disabling it for a contact? I see no option for this.

EDIT: I figured out that I can stop these by unchecking the 's' box for the contact. Since the help buttons do not seem to work within the web page, where can I obtain a document that details what each of these checkboxes mean for contacts and alerts?

You will find descriptions of the notification options on the following page:
