Nagios XI Upgrade from R1.3 - Capacity Planning Issues / PDF

Post by argentra »

Dear Support,

"We have a customer that have not updated their XI since version 1.3. We have tried to upgrade from 1.3 to 2.5 directly, but it failed and stopped displaying Capacity Planning reports saying that either RRD files do not exist or not showing anything at all. Then we decided to revert to 1.3 by reverting a vmware snapshot taken previously and updated version by version from 1.3 to 2.5.

As it appears at version 2.4 the capacity planning basically dissapears. It is very urgent to get an answer to this question since we are in the middle of deployment.

Capacity planning log file or any other log file connected to Nagios XI does not indicate any issues whatsoever.."

Capacity Planning issues have been removed by upgrading graph explorer.

Next issue is that my pdf reports are not being sent out (HTTPD Error Log):
--2013-10-21 16:34:35-- http://172.16.99.244/nagiosxi//reports/ ... n&mode=pdf

Done
200 OK
Length: unspecified [application/pdf]
Saving to: `/usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp/scheduledreport-nagiosadmin-pp48cf-Availability_Report.pdf'

0K .......... .......... .......... .......... ... 93.4M=0s

2013-10-21 16:34:41 (93.4 MB/s) - `/usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp/scheduledreport-nagiosadmin-pp48cf-Availability_Report.pdf' saved [44791]

It does not indicate anything in the maillog. It can send test messages and alerts, but not reports or pages.

URGENT

Thanks

Just to clarify:
1. Have you resolved the capacity planning issues with a graph explorer component update?
2. Do the reports get generated and are you just having an issue receiving them through mail? Additionally, are other notifications working?

1. Capacity planning issues have been resolved by putting in updated version of Graphexplorer (I did not see high charts in my Nagios XI as well)

I just dont understand why graph explorer did not update itself...

2. As for PDF report > I can generate PDFs, generate reports through WEB UI, but when it comes to sending those it does not even go through mail server which is SMTP, a normal alert from the system goes and I receive it
PDF report stops on the error message I showed earlier from Apache Error Log

I urgently need an answer to this question.

Many, many different PHP errors.. Need assistance URGENTLY

P.S. I wanted to send email to [email protected] and it rejected my e-mail address. Can someone check if argentra.com is added to the white list?

You are correct the we should get this into the ticket system. Send an email to [email protected] and they can add your email to the whitelist - afterwards open up a ticket by emailing [email protected].
