Active directory Integration Not working

Just installed a new XI installation from the vm and trying to follow the directions in the doc
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios_XI.pdf
we are unsuccessful in authenticationg with AD.
please provide any trouble shooting tips to check if all configs are ok.
