Update Nagios Core?

Post by timchin »

I'm running the latest version of NagiosXI (2012R2.5), but I mainly use the core interface for viewing. I receive this message:

A new version of Nagios Core is available!
Visit nagios.org to download Nagios 4.0.1.

Core is currently 3.5.0. Do I have to update core separately from XI? I always assumed it was included with the XI updates. Thanks!

It is unsafe to update core on an XI server unless it is done during a nagios xi update from us, there are certain things that must be changed on XI's end before a core update is done, "not to mention the testing we do to make sure it is safe for production environments." The core portion of your install will show there is an update however 4.x will not be added until XI 2014 is released in the coming months. So something to look forward to! :)

Ok - I won't mess with it, then. Thanks!
