Printed pages report

Post by NextNetworks »

> Dear Mr. Galstad,
Greetings, we are currently using your version of the Nagios XI monitoring software. We are currently trying to extract data directly from the MySQL database in order to generate a customized report. What I'm looking for exactly is this.:
I currently monitoring som printers, and I'm getting a lot of information. One of the key aspects that I'm getting is the total number of printed pages. What I'm trying to do is to make a counter that displays how many pages were printed in a certain period of time. I'm assuming that Nagios XI is storing the values in the database, however I'm still figuring this out.If you have any comments on this, it would be great to get some help from you.

Hello,
here is a plugin that is available that I will test as well. Some of the comments are in German so I may need to translate a bit and I will post my results to see if this will work for you.

I tried a few things on my own to accomplish this but to no avail.

Unfortunately at this time we do not have something this specific already done but it could be possible through the SNMP wizard and maybe editing a plugin. That being said, there could be something already developed out there (or could be written) to do this as I would imagine others would want something of this nature.

Another plugin that looks like it can monitor pagecount can be found at:

We haven't tried this, so we can't say for sure it will work for your needs.
