Our setup is a 4 vCPU 4 GB virtual machine.

We never had that issue before.
Which specific pages are you visiting which load the graphs slow?
All pages where performance graphs are displayed. For example Host Graphs page. But also when you go
under Performance Graphs of a host where only 5 - 8 graphs have to be displayed.

The rrdtool version:

RRDtool 1.3.8 Copyright 1997-2009 by Tobias Oetiker <[email protected]>

Out of curiosity, do you also see slow load times from Home > Graph Explorer?

I'm not sure how fast it normally is, but it's much faster than any other graphs after the update. How about you, SDK?

Did you both upgrade from
2012R2.4b or
2012R2.4?

Or did you upgrade from older versions? If so, which?

It happened for me when going to 2012R2.4. I can't recall if I was at 2.2 or 2.3 prior to the upgrade. Is there a way to tell from a log somewhere?

I'm currently on 2012R2.5 to see if it made any difference, but it didn't.

Graph generation is disk intensive. Run top and let us know what the io wait is reported at. Additionally, how are your disks doing on space/inodes?

Code: Select all

df -h
df -i

This problem seems rather strange. I manually started rrdtool graph from the shell to make a strace -i.

Since then the problem of the slow loading and the high CPU Usage of rrdtool is gone.

I rebooted the server to see if it persist, it did the problem is gone now

Kind regards
