Ok, have the server opened to the internet on a temp basis. I upgraded to the latest version of XI and updated the OS. Still getting this error.
I think somethign just wasn't installed the first time when I did an offline install.

I did a yum install php-mbstring and now got past that error. I am now getting this:

Code: Select all

[Thu Nov 07 12:32:48 2013] [error] [client 10.94.6.20] PHP Warning: stream_socket_enable_crypto(): SSL: connection timeout in /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/phpmailer/class.smtp.php on line 197, referer: http://svcldnagios01/nagiosxi/admin/testemail.php
and on the page when sending a test I get this: Language string failed to load: tls

Apparently I needed to wait a few minutes, it somehow fixed itself. Not sure if I am all good now or not. I'd love to be able to verify everything is installed that should be installed.

You best bet for testing would be to abuse the "submit passive check" option in the ui and force some state changes and notifications. I would also suggest that you check to make sure perfdata is working correctly.

Seriously, I hate you Andy! You jinxed me!

perfdata is not process any more, but that is my fault. It was processing, but I noticed the date/time were off by a few hours. I set the time up to proper time and now nor perdata since I did that.

Looks like after I applied some changes perfdata is being processed again.

Go ahead and close this thread. The original issue is resolved, and you know me, I'll gladly open a new post :)
