Hi,
Sometimes a server is shown good in nagios but the software running on it is crashed or simply inavailable for users (updates for example...)
So I need to find a way to force a scheduled downtime in nagios that count in the SLA report.
any ideas ?

Re: Force a downtime for accurate availability report
When your host is in downtime, it should not show up as critical through reports, is this what you are having issues with?
Re: Force a downtime for accurate availability report
Yes, I would like that when my host is in downtime, It show up as critical in report.
So I think that scheduled downtime isn't the good way to deal with my problem,
Is there a way to put manually and in a scheduled way a server in critical state for nagios?
Example:
Server 1- Is monitored by ping and have a critical application for users running on it.
This server is UP but the software (that can't be monitored) running on it is crashed.
For nagios everything is ok but obviously not for my users, so I would like to manually switch this host to critical for a better accuracy in my report.

Disable active checks on the host and submit a "DOWN" passive check result?Sirefen wrote: so I would like to manually switch this host to critical for a better accuracy in my report.
Have you considered monitoring this "critical application"?
