Post by phyolwin »

Dear all,

For the requirement of my working environment, we want to use sms notification if services or host is problem. But I am not sure what kind of modem can I use. My current location is Singapore. According to Nagios document, I found one modem name is Multi-Tech iSMS server. I want to know this model is ok for sms notification sending or what kind of modem are available in Singapore?

Is the modem a requirement? XI does support sending emails to SMS gateways for sending texts.

In the working environment, I am not sure whether Nagios Server can use internet or not. That why we are thinking to setup external sms server for SMS notification.

Actually I already tried to send email to SMS, but it's fail. I think we need to subscribe this service from service provider.

I am asking whether can we use Multi-Tech iSMS server for our requirement? I saw one document on nagios's documentation section. You can see in below link. Just want to confirm that SMS server is ok for our requirement before we buy this.

Thanks.

Yes as long as you get a multitech GSM modem you should be able to get this up and running correctly, we have one in the office that is used for testing.
