Out of memory at line 148

Post by Box293 »

This seems to appear randomly on the Tactical Overview screen. Moreso when I've left that screen running for a while.

I'll click OK and then it re-appears, it may re-appear about 4-5 times.

Closing the browser and opening again resolves the issue.

I am using IE 8.0.7600.16385.

Is there any chance you could see if this happens also with other browsers (Firefox and/or Chrome) to see if this is just an Internet Explorer issue?

It appears to be an Internet Explorer issue.

I have had Firefox 3.6.8 running all day with the Tactical Overview screen open without any issues.

I opened Internet Explorer about an hour ago and left it at the Tactical Overview screen. I forgot about it until it popped up with the 148 error just now.

I am going to upgrade to IE 9 and test. It appears that this version is much more compliant with open web standards, certianly will make things easier for developers. Here's an article on Tom's Hardware that has a roundup on the different browswer versions.
Tom's Hardware wrote:With Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft is reversing its previous stance on standards. Compliance with upcoming open Web standards, such as HTML5 and CSS3, are front-and-center in the development of IE9.

Not only does IE9 manage to beat previous WBGP champions Opera and Chrome with regard to performance, but it also succeeds in strutting its stuff in efficiency and standards compliance. IE9 is the clear winner of Web Browser Grand Prix 3, and we at Tom's Hardware approve of Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.
As for testing with Chrome I did not do this. I refuse to have a third web browser installed

IE 9 has been running fine on the Tactical Overview screen without the 148 error appearing (for about 3 hours it's been sitting on this screen).

All right then, that's good to know. Too bad IE9 doesn't support XP, so there will still be people stuck with IE8 for a while.

Ahhh yes XP is still hanging around, bit like Windows 98 did.

One last thing, I just noticed (with IE 8) that the problem is not restricted to the Tactical Overview screen.

I had the same error occur when I left the browser at the Manage Plugins screen.
