Re: Problems With Core Config

When I added it this morning it was without the process I wanted to monitor. I tried Core Config again and it failed. I deleted the server again and this time I added the process under Solaris Process and it worked this time.

But what I don't understand is why it won't work under Core Config.

I don't recall seeing a 'Dependent relationships' message. Sorry.

I believe lmiltchev meant this:
I do see this:

Database Relationships for host : simsfs01.umaryland.edu
Items labeled as: 'Dependent relationships' will prohibit deletion
Object ID: 10 of table tbl_host:
Relation to Hostgroups, entry: sims-prod
Relation to Hosttemplates, entry: xiwizard_linuxserver_host

This is a Solaris box not a linux box - could this be a problem?

Oh, I'm sorry.

I saw that when I tried to delete the host. I then went in and deleted each process and the when there were no more attached to the server I was able to delete the server.

Good. So it's working now.
But what I don't understand is why it won't work under Core Config.
Can you elaborate? What is not working?

If you read the whole thread you see that every time I tried to make the configuration change using Core Config it failed. It would save and when I applied it it said it was successful - BUT - it would not show up in the database. I thought that what Core Config was for - single additions of things to be monitored. Deleting all the processes and the server and the re-adding it for just one addition seems rather inefficient.

Well, I got Core Config to work using "Copy". So I guess I'm happy with that. You can close this thread - I thank everyone for their input.
