I do not want to change the hostname, I just want to edit the content in NagiosXI so that it reads the correct website instead of the local website.

I was not asking you to change anything. I believe this issue is with dns particularly, unless that yourserver.yourdomain response from vmware is actually the output and not something sanitized. Could you please validate that the ip does in fact return a valid hostname?
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.

Yes, the IP does return the correct hostname.

Can you show us one of your service definitions? CCM > Services > "Choose one of your failing services" and click the diskette icon next to it, copy the output and paste it in a code-wrapped reply here please.

Are ALL of these checks failing? Can you show us the actual command that you are running from the command line, along with the output of it?

As lmiltchev asked, can you manually run one of your service commands from the command line and show us both the command and the output?
