HOST DOWN - SERVICES PING CHECK ATTEMPT STOP

Post by oslec »

I have a big question:

- The Host have a check_host_alive (with check_icmp command) checks every 10 minutes and no notifications enable.

- The same Host have a Service Ping (with check_icmp command) check every 5 minutes with 5 Attempts every 1 minute and notifications enable.

Why if the Host goes Down, the Service Ping goes Critical and start the attempts 1 of 5, 2 of 5 every minute....but stop and stay in 2 of 5 and the next check attempt return to 5 minutes and the service notification never happen..

For example:
HOST DOWN - STATE DOWN
PING SERVICE CRITICAL 1 of 5 Time: 11:10 - Next Check Attempt: 11:11
PING SERVICE CRITICAL 2 of 5 Time: 11:11 - Next Check Attempt: 11:16
....
and the service stay in 2 of 5...

Can you help me ?

It looks like you currently have a ticket open for this? If so we would prefer to handle the issue there instead of in two separate locations.
