Help need to prevent increasing for these two files size

hi,

Help need to to prevent increasing for these two files size. Any way to prevent these two files size from incresing, currently these two files use around 25.6G.
/usr/local/nagios/var/host-perfdata.dat & service-perfdata.dat

Please share the method to limit / retention these two files from inceasing. (host-perfdata.dat & service-perfdata.dat )

if i limit / rentention for these two files host-perfdata.dat & service-perfdata.dat. Can I still can retrieve data/log from the nagios for 1 year data?
because I need to generate the performance report.

My guess is that you have your nagios.cfg set to put performance data here.

Usually, you would be reaping these files with something like PNP4nagios and they should never grow.

If you aren't using something to reap the files, I would remove the directive from the nagios.cfg because they will be of no use anyways.
