Re: SNMP Monitoring
The port will need to be open as we have stated. SNMP traffic is passed through this port.

Re: SNMP Monitoring
As per OEM document SNMP string and port setting is done. On network also port 161 is open, but still not getting output.
You have any document for SNMP setting for SNMP and another way to monitoring.

... but it is still closed. This is not an issue with the nagios server, but with your network, or a piece of network hardware (like a firewall/router), or the firewall/ipatbles on the remote system, or maybe the snmp daemon is not running on the remote server.narendra.badgujar wrote:As per OEM document SNMP string and port setting is done.
You have 2 options. Active check snmp oids through port 161, or send traps from the remote system to XI. My suggestion would be to track down why the remote system reports the port as closed.narendra.badgujar wrote:You have any document for SNMP setting for SNMP and another way to monitoring.
Is the remote system you are attempting to monitor a server or a network device (router/switch/etc)?

I'm going to have to quote abrist on this as it seems like you are ignoring what needs to be done, whether intentionally or not:
You need to follow the direction that we have been pointing you in.... but it is still closed.
