Notification Profiles

Post by heritages »

Hey all,

I'm new Nagios XT and i'm currently installing and evaluating XI version 2012R2.7.

I trying to find a way to setup notification profiles so I can set alerts to notify admins based on its importance.

E.G. Email server
Server offline would generate a 24/7 email/SMS alert
Hard drive 85% full would generate a 8am-5pm/weekday email alert.

I'd like the alert to go to a team of admins and not have to create alert config for each admin manually.

Does anyone now of a document or video that shows how to do this?

Cheers

Steve

Sure, so you can set your host alerts to be sent out 24/7 as normal, for your services, such as your HDD space service, you can create a custom time period through Configure > CCM > Timeperiods, then set it in the service configuration at CCM > Services > "servicename" > Alert Settings. Then assign those contacts, or your contact group to it for the alerts.

We'll leave this thread open for a bit so you can test it and get back to us with any issues. Otherwise I will probably close it next week.
