Nagios XI manual installation

Post by macexplorer »

Hi, I just started installing nagios xi on a server RHEL 5.

The server has no internet access so I had to manually download and install all 1-prereqs script packages.

When I finally installed everything, I had some troubles on the E-importnagiosql due to some missing files. basically all the config files.

cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/contacttemplates.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/contactgroups.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/contacts.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/timeperiods.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/commands.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/servicegroups.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hosttemplates.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/servicetemplates.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/servicedependencies.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/serviceescalations.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostdependencies.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostescalations.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostextinfo.cfg
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/serviceextinfo.cfg

So I manually copy/pasted the files from a WMware image I have, but now although it starts the nagiosxi without any problems, when I go to the admin section on the Core config manager it shows an empty page, and there is no error on the logs from httpd or nagios.

Can anyone help me ???

Thanks

I have this same problem with an install. Looks like the scripts that are protected by sourceguardian are not compatible with PHP 5.3.1.

Step E appears to be the first one that relies on those scripts and so it fails.

I don't have a fix so far, I came here hoping someone else did. :(

I'm not sure, but I believe that if you install the loader you should be fine.

I downloaded and installed the 5.3 ixed. The error message I get after installing 5.3 is something like "the script you're trying to run does not support php 5.3.1". I don't have the VM open atm, but that's the jist of the message. I can post the full error message later if needed.

I forgot this post, and I'm replying in case it helps some one else. The problem was with the pear installation, I was installing another template, it has to be the one listed on the 1-preresqs, after installing the right template it worked fine.
