Notifications using Nagios Fusion

Post by MSPk »

Hi Team,

We are designing a distributed monitoring solution for client using nagios XI and nagios fusion. We have question on how the notifications are handled when an alert is detected by one of the nagios servers. A notification will be send out by the XI server which has executed that particular chk or will the notification be sent out by the fusion server. Please suggest.

The email functionality of Nagios Fusion is there for future additions, or custom components that users can upload. They do not currently alert you so you would need to set up notifications from the XI / Core servers.

On nagios fusion homepage we see the current status on each nagios xi server that is integrated with fusion. Do we have an option to see all the alerts on a single dashlet that are reported on all the nagios instances (currently we need to click on the alerts for an instance to be re-directed to the webpage from that xi server).

If you go to dashboards -> Add Dashlet, you can add the
Unhandled Host Problems
Unhandled Service Problems

to a dashboard and see them all

you mean to say all the unhandled hosts and service alerts from all the XI/Core Instances can be view on the single screen/dashlet?

I tried to check this on fusion demo but this dashlet is not listed there...!!

Yes, you can watch your unhandled problems by adding dashlets such as the Tactical Summary, or Tactical Overview to a specific dashlet, and even place it on your Fusion server's homepage if you wish.

These dashlets do show the basic info like no.of critical alerts, unhandled alerts,etc..what we are looking for is a dashboard which shows the detailed info like the server name on which the service is critical as shown in attched image. We want this info for all the nagios instances consolidated in 1 dashlet.

You can set up a dashboard in Nagios Fusion, and then add some "Service Status" dashlets. This way, you can get more detailed info, see and example below:
