One more thing, you did not let us know what tool you are using for graphing, or your nagios version.

Nagios Core 3.5.0 and graphing is done by rrdtool.
I was also wondering if someone can guide me links to setup trending graphs for uptime,cpu,mem,disk for hostgroups and to be emailed.

Are you using pnp4nagios, nagiosgraph, etc? What locale are you using?
