Deploy VM - Azure

Post by nchick »

I am trying to use the VM Depot in Azure's VM Gallery

http://vmdepot.msopentech.com/Vhd/Show? ... rsion=1450

When I'm using the GUI to generate a new VM part of it ask's me for a username and password - (default is azureuser)

It seem whatever password combination is put in this is not carried onto the VM, so I am never able to SSH onto the new Virtual Machine.

Do you have any further pointers as to how to resolve this?

Just to verify, you are able to get ssh to connect, but the user\pass you provided is not working? I can't say that I had any issues when creating the vm for azure, but I also cannot say how many people are using it.

Just to confirm yes that is correct - I get the username and password prompt ... but nothing lets me in...

OK, I have time set aside today to give it a good test and see what might be happening. I will post back as soon as its working!

Hi,
i'm running into the same error. Have you guys been able to solve it?
Is it necessary to provide an SSH-Fingerprint when setting up the machine? I decided to only set a password and left the user as default (azureuser)

Best, Philipp

No it is not an issue with the ssh daemon, but how azure chooses to reallocate the vm and reset passwords. I am unfortunately still working on this, although should have a resolve shortly, as I have been working with M$ on it.

Did you succeed to solve this issue? I'm having the same issue. I can connect using SSH but cannot login using the username/password I provided. I did not use SSH key upload. I've done this with other kind of VM's before in the past (also from VMDepot) and it always worked without problems...

Thanks in advance.

I don't do much with the VMs, but some general troubleshooting steps:

Can you log in with root/nagiosxi?
Is this 32 or 64-bit?
