Concept for Nagios XI HA Setting

Post by phyo »

Dear all,

We need to use Nagios XI High Availability. What I want to know is how can we implement this situation?

Currently we install heartbeat and DRBD for Linux HA(Active/Passive). For Nagios Xi part we are not sure how to config? Please let us know how can we install and config for Nagios Xi part.

For Nagios Process (Active/Passive or Active/Active)?
HTTPD (Active/Passive or Active/Active)?
MysqlD (Active/Passive or Active/Active)?
Postgresql (Active/Passive or Active/Active)?

For adding host and services, do we need to do on both server 1 and server 2 or just server 1?

Thanks.

I am sorry if my question is not clear. :)

Mike Weber gave a pretty good talk on this at our Nagios World Conference in 2012. The slides for the talk can be found here:

http://www.slideshare.net/nagiosinc/mike-weber-failover

He goes over a few different methods you can use to implement failover and a master/slave relationship between two XI servers. He details the step enough for you to follow along without seeing the full video. Sorry if this is a bit vague but without knowing what you have read about or tried we can only guess at what you don't know.
