No, I assumed the macro was populated by XI since the xi_notification handler has content in the macro, but now I see those are different macros. Are those Xi ones (responseurl and xiserverurl) even available to the core notification script? I am guessing not.

I can't say I have seen it done, but it is certainly worth a shot. I think more than anything it would depend on what language you are using to expand the env macros that are being passed, and if it will look inside a macro for additional ones.
