I've read through a bunch of posts on this error and haven't had any luck yet. I'm also not all that familiar with Linux as well.
I've got this list from the yum command and now I'm not sure what to do next. How does this command change
"rhn-channel --add --channel=rhel-x86_64-server-optional-6"?
[ctadmin@ctqapanlnmn1 nagiosxi]$ yum repolist all
repo id repo name status
rhel-source Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6Server - x86_64 - disabled
rhel-source-beta Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6Server Beta - x86 disabled
rhel-x86_64-server-6 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (v. 6 for 6 enabled: 12,310
repolist: 12,310
thanks!

Re: Error on install - Optional channel
Is the installer telling you that you need to enable the optional channels? I believe those are what you have listed, this is a RHEL issue and you should probably get some help from your RHEL admin on it, they are very picky with subscriptions.
Re: Error on install - Optional channel
I have an email out to that group, thanks.
