Bulk mod tool: selection filter

Post by MichielvM »

Hi

Can it be made possible to filter out a selection of hosts/services to select in de bulk mod.
For instance: say I want to disable all CPU Usage services. At the moment I have to Ctrl-Clik through the entire list.
In an mid-to-large environment this is a intensive task to say the least.

If not, I'd like to see this turned into a feature request for the bulk mod tool.

You can select the first item, then click on the last item, while holding the "Shift" key.

Yes, I know, but that gives me everything.

For instance: I have a 100 monitored hosts monitoring all kinds of services (CPU/Memory/Page and what not.) and I would like to disable only the CPU services, at this moment I have no other option than to scroll through the list and Ctrl-Click each CPU service.
A nice feature would be to able to filter out *cpu* and add all found instances.

If you did not name the beginning of their names similarly, then they will not be ordered the same and you would have to do that, yes.

By design we have chosen to name all services beginning with the name of the host, followed by a descriptive abbreviation.
Either way, I would be nice to have a filter tool.

Feature request perhaps?

You could absolutely put in a feature request on tracker.nagios.com. I only request that you put it in, so that you can follow any progress made with it. If you post a link back here to it, we can make an internal one as well and link them.
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.

Here it is: http://tracker.nagios.org/view.php?id=578
Is tracker also for feature requests? Got a bit confused by the "issue" terminology..

Bugs or feature requests, just depends on what you choose from the dropdown menu.
