Did you
Check for error messages in the install log (install.log)
yet? Can you post that here? We can't really help much without details.
If you require assistance in resolving the issue, please include install.log
in your communications with Nagios XI technical support.
What version of RHEL are you running? Is it registered with the RHN?

Good afternoon,
I too am having the same error problem when trying to run the ./fullinstall script.
Here is what my install.log shows:

The log previously showed more information, but I have been troubleshooting each problem and have finally narrowed it down to the above error.
Here's what all I have done:
I have used the rhn_register command and added my system to Red Hat successfully. I then ran the yum update command successfully as the Red Hat web interface shows all updates complete for my server. I have also added the server to the rhn certificate-based subscription management following (http://lukas.zapletalovi.com/2011/08/ho ... based.html) successfully. I thought Red Hat had said I didn't need to add a server to both, but this seemed to fix one of the error messages.
I then added the server to the 'Optional channel' like one of the error messages mentions. I've restarted the server and made sure both Red Hat registrations are showing active on the web interface and they are.

So, I tried to run the ./fullinstall command again on the server for Nagios, but got the above error.

I'm running RHEL 6.5

I would greatly appreciate your help as I am looking forward to using Nagios!

Did you run the following commands from the error:

Code: Select all

yum install yum-utils -y
yum-config-manager --enable rhel-6-server-optional-rpms

I had ran the 2nd one you listed - sorry forgot to mention that earlier.
Here's the output I had received from that one:

"Loaded plugins: product-id, rhnplugin
This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite."

I've just ran the 1st command you mention as I had not done it earlier and here's its output:

"Loaded plugins: product-id, rhnplugin, security, subscription-manager
This system is registered to Red Hat Subscription Management, but is not receiving updates. You can use subscription-manager to assign subscriptions.
This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite.
Setting up Install Process
Package yum-utils-1.1.30-17.el6_5.noarch already installed and latest version
Nothing to do"

So, I just tried to run the ./fullinstall again and got the same error as before.

Thanks for responding to my post. Do you have any other suggestions I might try?

What is the output of the following command?

Code: Select all

yum -v repolist
Can you succesfully run "yum update" on the system?

Are you using a proxy?

It would be helpful to see the complete "install.log".

The install failed a few times, because the system was not registered with RedHat, and the "Optional" channel was not added. It seems you system is alraedy registered, but I still don't see the "Optional" channel listed... In your repos, you will need to see something like this:

Code: Select all

Repo-id : rhel-x86_64-server-optional-6
Repo-name : RHEL Server Optional (v. 6 64-bit x86_64)
Repo-updated : Thu Mar 27 05:39:54 2014
Repo-pkgs : 7,044
Repo-size : 10 G
Repo-baseurl : https://xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com/XMLRPC/GET-REQ/rhel-x86_64-server-optional-6
Repo-expire : 21,600 second(s) (last: Fri Mar 28 11:30:03 2014)
