Performance Graphs are Red X's for the Server Graphs

Installed Version: 2011R1.2

When the Nagios XI was installed everything worked fine on that day but we went back to the website days later we noticed that all the server performance graphs had Red X's in their places. I have visited the FAQ and some forum suggestions but none have worked for me so far unless i am missing steps. From my initial search this looks like a common newbie problem. I literally have about 2-3 days of nagios experience so can someone who has experienced this issue can you give me detailed steps how to fix or diagnose it would be great thank you.
