I'm still looking but have not yet found documentation on how to set this up. Can you point me in the right direction?
I've been doing the same thing. Look in the XI Administrators Guide under Advanced Topics, SNMP Trap Integration. There is an snmp trap sender component. Or direct link to instructions: http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios_XI.pdf
Bah, you beat me to it :) You can also do this with eventhandlers calling snmptrap on the CLI, but I'd imagine this is what the component does behind the scenes.

Thanks again for timely support... Looking for some help on sizing the XI server properly. If we plan to monitor 5000 Unix servers (various flavors) with Check_by_ssh. We think we will do about 20 checks per server every 5 minutes. What would be the recomendation on the size of the XI server runing it on RedHat 6. (memory, cpu, disk,). Or can you guys point me to a sizing document?

Here is the doc
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... quirements

That's a pretty big setup, most important is going to be fast disks...

Also take a look at these for Boosting Performance
Specifically the RAM DISK and possibly MySQL offload will help the most...
